Metro Manila, Philippines — The TNT Tropang Giga moved closer to defending their title after dominating Barangay Ginebra, 99-72, in Game 5 of the PBA Season 49 Governors’ Cup finals at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Rondae Hollis-Jefferson dropped 16 points and grabbed 10 rebounds for the Tropang Giga.

TNT came out with guns blazing as Kelly Williams led the attack with a vintage performance in the first half, where they led by 23 points at the break.

The Tropang Giga continued to pounce on the situation in the third period, maintaining an insurmountable lead for the rest of the match.

RR Pogoy added 16 points and three rebounds, while Calvin Oftana finished with 15 points and eight rebounds for TNT.

Scottie Thompson paced Ginebra with 13 markers and four boards.

The Tropang Giga will try to finish the series in Game 6 scheduled for Nov. 8 at the Big Dome.
