Metro Manila, Philippines - Multi-awarded actress Judy Ann Santos scored a fresh acting award for her horror flick, “Espantaho.”

The Kapamilya star won best actress at the 45th Fantasporto International Film Festival in Portugal, which recognizes fantasy, sci-fi, and horror movies.

She is the fourth Filipino artist who was recognized in the film festival after Barbie Forteza, Ian Veneracion, and Cristine Reyes.

In her acceptance speech, Santos said it is a big honor to represent the country on the international stage.

“Nakapaganda ng souvenir na mauuwi ko mula dito sa Fantasporto,” she said.

[Translation: I'm going to take home a very beautiful souvenir from Fantasporto]

Santos said in jest that she would gladly pay extra baggage fee to bring her trophy home.

Her husband and television host Ryan Agoncillo posted photos of Santos holding her award.

The actress first clinched the top acting award in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024.

Directed by Chito Roño, “Espantaho” also starred veteran actresses Lorna Tolentino, Chanda Romero, and Janice de Belen.
