Metro Manila, Philippines — The combined impact of two successive cyclones have affected around 85,000 families in Luzon, according to data from the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) released on Thursday, Nov. 14.

Typhoon Nika (international name: Toraji), which is now outside the country’s monitoring space, and Super Typhoon Ofel (Usagi) left a trail of destruction in five regions: Ilocos, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Bicol.

The NDRRMC reported two injured persons.

As of 8 a.m., around 46,000 people have been displaced, while more than 2,000 houses were destroyed.

Infrastructure damage was estimated at ₱320 million.
