Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla presents arrested Russian content creator Vitaly Zdorovetskiy before the media on April 7.

Metro Manila, Philippines - Russian content creator Vitaly Zdorovetsky is facing charges for harassing a number of Filipinos in his viral videos.

Presenting Zdorovetsky to the media on Monday, April 7, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla said five charges were filed against the streamer for harassment and multiple disruptive and inappropriate acts.

The Russian will not be deported pending resolution of the cases.

Remulla said Zdorovetsky admitted his wrong actions during questioning.

“People have to take responsibility for the content they create. It is not a license to shame or to hurt or to besmirch anyone,” Remulla said.

Zdorovetskiy’s videos were played before the media, including his attempt to kiss a Filipina, threatening to rob a pedestrian, and ignoring a security guard’s order to stop recording.

“Ang subject natin sa likod (Zdorovetskiy) ay nagyayabang pa na sinasabi na fake news daw ang ating pinapakita,” Remulla said.

The Russian, who held a book titled “Following Jesus” in the press conference, even clapped and gave a thumbs up while the briefing was ongoing.

Meanwhile, the Department of Tourism supports holding the vlogger accountable.

“We campaign for the world to love the Philippines. But that love and respect must be reciprocated,” Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco said in an ambush interview.

Zdorovetskiy has been under the Bureau of Immigration’s custody.

Authorities are also locating the cameraman of Vitaly.
