Metro Manila, Philippines - The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) has imposed an indefinite ban on Larry Muyang for breach of contract.

PBA commissioner Willie Marcial announced Sunday the sanction on the 6-foot-6 big man for playing in another league despite having a live contract with Phoenix, his mother ballclub in the PBA.

"Banned ang status niya (ngayon) sa PBA," the league chieftain said.

[Translation: He is currently banned in the PBA.]

According to Phoenix management, Muyang's contract with the squad is effective until May 2025.

Muyang has been seeing action for the Pampanga Giant Lanterns in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League.

Marcial said while Muyang apologized for his action, Phoenix could file a possible lawsuit for non-fulfillment of live contract.

"Humingi siya ng pasensiya. Pero sabi ko kahit ganun, may kontrata siya sa Phoenix so dapat i-honor niya yun," he said.

[Translation: He apologized. But I said he still needs to honor his contract with Phoenix.]

Marcial also said Muyang could appeal his case before the PBA Board of Governors if he has plans to return to the league.

Muyang was selected seventh overall by Phoenix in the 2020 PBA Draft.
