Padilla endorses reelectionist Imee Marcos

Metro Manila, Philippines - Senator Robin Padilla endorsed presidential sister and reelectionist Senator Imee Marcos for the upcoming 2025 midterm elections.

In a short video posted on Marcos’ social media pages, Padilla and Marcos talk about the latter’s platforms. The campaign material ended with Padilla telling the public to vote for Marcos.

Padilla leads Partido Demokratiko Pilipino (PDP) Laban in the absence of former President Rodrigo Duterte who is currently in the custody of the International Criminal Court (ICC) for crimes against humanity.

However, there has been no update if PDP Laban will absorb Marcos under their slate.

Marcos is currently running without a political party after she withdrew from the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, the slate endorsed by her brother President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Her exit came days after she initiated and led the Senate panel investigating the arrest of Duterte, citing differences in “ideals and principles” from the admin-backed slate.

In recent independent surveys, Marcos has yet to enter the top 12 list of most preferred senatoriables running in the 2025 midterm polls.
