Nora Aunor switches party-list groups
Metro Manila, Philippines - Movie icon Nora Aunor has switched party-list groups a month into the campaign for the midterm elections.
Aunor said on Wednesday, March 5, that she withdrew as second nominee of the People's Champ Guardians identified with former Senator Manny Pacquiao to support Kabayan.
"Imbes na maghanap pa ng posisyon, mas pinili kong suportahan ang subok na sa tunay na serbisyo sa bayan," Aunor, Nora Villamayor in real life, was quoted as saying.

Kabayan Rep. Ron Salo expressed gratitude for Aunor’s support.
“Lubos naming ikinararangal ang pagsuportang ito mula kay Ms. Nora Aunor, isang natatanging Pilipino na nagbigay-inspirasyon sa maraming kababayan natin," Salo said.

The People's Champ Guardians filed its certification of nomination and acceptance at the Manila Hotel on Oct. 7.
In filing the certificate, Aunor said she wants to be of help to fellow Filipinos and those in the arts and entertainment industry.
Aunor, a National Artist for Film and Broadcast Arts, has starred in over a hundred films.
