A driver and a motorcycle rider engage in a fistfight in a viral road rage incident in Antipolo, Rizal on March 30.

Metro Manila, Philippines - A complaint for multiple frustrated homicide will be filed against the driver involved in a viral road rage shooting in Antipolo, Rizal, the Land Transportation Office said.

On Sunday, March 30, a driver of a sports utility vehicle was caught firing at motorcycle riders over a scuffle, leaving four people injured including the suspect’s companion.

In a viral video, the driver and riders engaged in a fistfight before the shots were fired.

The Antipolo police said the suspect tried to escape but he was eventually apprehended after a hot pursuit operation.

In a press statement, the LTO said it has ordered a thorough investigation on the root of the scuffle.

The agency said it has also issued a show cause order to the SUV driver and the riders involved.

LTO Chief Vigor Mendoza said the license of the driver may be revoked, depending on the results of the probe.

His license was suspended for 90 days for the meantime, as well as the license of one of the motorcycle riders involved.

“Muli ay nagpapa-alala tayo sa ating mga kababayang motorista na maging maingat, maging responsible at magbaon ng napakaraming pasensya kapag nasa kalsada. Marami na tayong naparusahan dahil sa road rage at marami na ang nasira ang buhay dahil sa road rage,” Mendoza said.

[Translation: We once again remind our fellow motorists to be careful, responsible, and to carry plenty of patience when on the road. Many have already been punished because of road rage, and many lives have been ruined because of it]

Meanwhile, the Commission on Elections said the driver has no license to use firearms with the election gun ban taking effect.
