Metro Manila, Philippines - Alex Eala officially moved up to No. 75 in the latest singles rankings released by the Women's Tennis Association on Monday.

She is the first Filipino player to crack the top 100 of the world rankings.

The 19-year-old recently had a dream run at the 2025 Miami Open after pulling off upset victories against top five players in the world, which included No. 2 Iga Swiatek of Poland and No. 5 Madison Keys of the United States.

Eala, who entered the Miami Open as a wildcard and ranked No. 140, ended her journey after bowing to No. 4 Jessica Pegula in a grueling three-set semifinals showdown.

With this latest feat, Eala will be seeded to the main draw or have direct entry to the remaining Grand Slam tournaments of the year, with the French Open coming up in May.
