(Reuters) - Sergei Shoigu, the secretary of Russia's Security Council, told Chinese President Xi Jinping on Friday that Russia-China relations were at an unprecedented high, Russia's TASS state news agency reported.

Shoigu, who met earlier on Friday in Beijing with China's foreign minister, said the two countries' partnership was not directed against other nations.

China and Russia declared a "no limits" strategic partnership days before Putin sent tens of thousands of troops into Ukraine in February 2022.
