Metro Manila, Philippines - Acts of service are the most common love language among Filipinos, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The SWS asked 2,160 Filipino adults in December how they expressed their love. The survey results were released on Feb. 11.

Sixty-seven percent chose acts of service, 51 percent each for words of affirmation and quality time, 33 percent for giving gifts, and 29 percent for physical touch.

Meanwhile, love and companionship were the top Valentine wish list of both men and women, with 20 percent and 17 percent, respectively.

Also on the men’s wish list were any gift from the heart (nine percent), flowers (eight percent), money (six percent), and apparel (six percent).

On the other hand, money (15 percent) was the second most wished for among women, followed by flowers (12 percent), any gift from the heart (eight percent), and good family relationship (eight percent).

The SWS survey also showed that 46 percent of Filipinos were “very happy” with their love life, a record low from the 58 percent in December 2023. Thirty-six percent said they “could be happier,” while 18 percent have no love life.

The survey was conducted from Dec. 12 to 18 with a ±2% sampling margin error.
