Facade of the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX/Website)

Metro Manila, Philippines - Motorists and car users would have to pay more for parking at the Parañaque Integrated Terminal Exchange (PITX) beginning Tuesday, Jan. 14.

In a social media advisory, the terminal operator said the initial parking fee for four-wheeled vehicles is now P60 for the first three hours and P15 for every hour of extension. The previous flat rate was P60.

Motorcycle parking fees also rose from P50 to P60.

Overnight parking charges doubled to P300 from P150.

In a statement, the PITX management said the parking fee adjustments were made to “offer technology backed parking experience and improved customer satisfaction.”

It said there is a need to improve facilities with growing traffic.

“To efficiently manage the parking experience, we are now investing and implementing advanced technologies such as automatic plate number recognition, parking guidance systems and digital payment kiosks for a seamless and more efficient experience,” it said.

“This adjustment also allows us to maintain and improve the quality, safety, and accessibility of our parking facilities for commuters and travelers,” the operator added.
