Metro Manila, Philippines – A congested jail is awaiting dismissed Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, who has been ordered arrested due to qualified trafficking charges before a Pasig court.

Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) spokesperson Jayrex Bustinera told NewsWatch Plus that the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory is ideally for 36 persons deprived of liberty (PDL).

The standard space for one PDL is 4.7 square meters, he said.

However, the facility accommodates 135 PDLs.

The cell has 10 triple-deck beds.

The number of PDLs in the cell where Guo is set to be detained is five times more than its ideal capacity.

The cell has 10 triple-deck beds.

She will share the space with 44 other detainees, including one of the co-accused of Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. The BJMP did not disclose her identity.

“Naka distribute kasi yung co-accused ni Pastor Quiboloy sa tatlong selda sa jail,” Bustinera told NewsWatch Plus in a message on Sunday, Sept. 22.

Currently, Guo is at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Facility in Camp Crame in Quezon City.

She was supposed to transfer to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory last Friday, but it was moved as requirements were not yet completed.

“Bukas po i commit sa Pasig as per CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group),” PNP spokesperson PCol Jean Fajardo said in a separate message on Sunday.

Guo is also facing money laundering cases before the Department of Justice.

Meanwhile, she has posted bail of ₱540,000 for graft charges. The amount is higher than the initial ₱180,000 determined by the court as the former mayor has been considered a “flight risk.”
