Palace suspends classes, gov’t work in Metro Manila, Calabarzon on Sept. 3

Metro Manila, Philippines – All classes in public and private schools and government work in Metro Manila and Calabarzon are suspended on Tuesday, Sept. 3, a Palace official said on Monday.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin confirmed the suspension in light of Tropical Storm Enteng and the southwest monsoon.

Suspension of work in private companies is left to the discretion of their heads, Bersamin said.

Some local government units have also declared class suspensions for Tuesday.

Weather bureau PAGASA said the storm intensified as it made landfall in Casiguran, Aurora on Monday afternoon.
