Metro Manila, Philippines — Marcio Lassiter of the San Miguel Beermen cemented his status as the greatest long range shooter in PBA history.

Needing just three triples to surpass Jimmy Alapag's all-time league record of 1,250, the 37-year-old sank four triples in the first quarter alone against Barangay Ginebra on Sunday in the PBA Season 49 Governors' Cup on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.

Lassiter broke the record at the 7:11 mark of the opening frame.

The Filipino American veteran guard finished the match with 18 points on six three-pointers.

The Beermen went on to demolish Ginebra in a lopsided 131-82 win to earn a playoffs spot in Governors' Cup.

Among the top three three-point leaders in the PBA, Lassiter achieved the feat in fewer games and more efficiently.

Lassiter did it in 537 games on 39 percent, while Allan Caidic and Alapag did it in 598 and 601 games on 37 percent and 36 percent, respectively.
