Makabayan coalition bares Senatorial slate
Metro Manila, Philippines – The Makabayan coalition has bared its Senatorial slate for the 2025 midterm elections.
The alliance made the announcement during National Heroes’ Day on Monday, Aug. 26 at the Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila, stressing their pledge to champion the rights of the marginalized and push for social change.
Below are the ten individuals in Makabayan’s Senatorial slate:
+ Mody Floranda - Pagkakaisa ng mga Samahan ng Tsuper at Operator Nationwide (PISTON) chairman
+Mimi Domingo - Militant group Kadamay
+ Jocelyn Andamo - Filipino Nurses United
+ France Castro - ACT Teachers Party-list representative
+ Arlene Brosas - Gabriela Women’s Party-list representative
+ Jerome Adonis - Kilusang Mayo Uno
+ Liza Maza - former anti-poverty czar
+ Teddy Casino - former BAYAN Muna representative
+ Ronnel Arambulo - Pambansang Lakas ng Kilusang Mamamalakaya ng Pilipinas (Pamalakaya) vice-chairperson
+ Danilo Ramos - Kilusang Magbubukid ng Pilipinas chairman
The coalition said the aspirants have a common vision for a “just and equitable” Philippines.
“This slate represents our unwavering dedication to the principles of nationalism, democracy, and social justice. Our candidates are not just leaders but are true advocates for the Filipino people, ready to push for policies that uplift the oppressed and marginalized sectors of our society,” Bayan Muna Chairman and Makabayan Co-Chairperson Neri Colmenares said in a statement.
“As we introduce these stalwarts of change, we reaffirm our commitment to the struggle for a truly sovereign and democratic nation. Let us draw inspiration from our heroes and continue their legacy in our fight for freedom and justice,” he added.
