Curtains to open for musical featuring Rico Blanco songs

Metro Manila, Philippines — Theater curtains will open next year for a musical featuring the songs of original Pilipino music icon Rico Blanco.

9Works Theatrical announced that “Liwanag sa Dilim” will be staged at the RCBC Plaza in Makati City in March.

Robbie Guevarra will direct the play.

Blanco was the frontman of rock band Rivermaya, which popularized the song “Liwanag sa Dilim” in early 2000.

Among the singer-songwriter’s top hits are “Antukin,” “You’ll be Safe Here,” and “Your Universe.”
