Metro Manila, Philippines - The trust ratings of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte both dropped in the last quarter of the year, a commissioned survey by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) showed.

Marcos secured a net trust rating of +29, down by four points from +33 in September 2024.

Duterte’s ratings, meanwhile, fell by 6 points from +29 to +23.

The SWS classification of trust ratings is as follows:

+70 and above: excellent

+50 to +69: very good

+30 to +49: good

+10 to +29: moderate

+9 to -9: neutral

-10 to -29: poor

-30 to -49: bad

-50 to -69: very bad

-70 and below: execrable

The SWS conducted the survey among 2,160 respondents from Dec. 12 to 18 through face-to-face interviews, with a +2 sampling error margin. It was commissioned by research think-tank, Stratbase Consultancy.

Respondents were asked to indicate if their trust on the official is “very much, somewhat much, undecided if much or little, somewhat little, very little, or have not heard or read anything” about them; 54% of the respondents said they have “much trust” in Marcos, while 25% said they have little trust with the president. 19% were undecided.

Meanwhile, data showed 52% of the surveyed people had “much trust” in Duterte. 29% of them said they have little trust with the vice president, while 17% did not decide.

In a November survey by Pulse Asia released this month, data also showed a decline in the performance and trust ratings of the country's top leaders.
