Metro Manila, Philippines – Typhoon Marce (international name: Yinxing) is out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility at 4 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said in a bulletin.

The weather bureau lifted storm signals in its 5 p.m. update.

“Ngayong hapon hanggang gabi, asahan pa rin ang thunderstorms dito sa bahagi ng Ilocos region. Pero sa Metro Manila pati sa ibang bahagi ng bansa, walang direktang epekto itong bagyong binabantayan natin,” PAGASA Weather Specialist Ana Clauren-Jorda said in a briefing.

A gale warning is still up in the western coasts of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur.

“Marce” weakened after a number of landfalls overnight.

New LPA outside PAR

Meanwhile, PAGASA spotted a new low pressure area (LPA) east of the country, expected to enter the PAR on Friday evening or Saturday morning.

Clauren-Jorda said the LPA has a low chance of becoming a tropical depression within 24 hours.

“Base sa ating latest TC (tropical cyclone) threat potential… meron po siyang high chance na maging bagyo within the next five days,” the state weather specialist said.

“Kahit LPA o maging bagyo man ito, magdudulot ito ng kalat-kalat na pag-ulan, mga pagkidlat at pagkulog lalo na sa bahagi ng Cagayan o Isabaela area,” she said. “Pati na rin ang bahagi ng Quezon, Aurora, Bicol region ay posible ring makaranas ng pag-ulan dala nitong LPA na posible maging bagyo within the next five days.”
