Portion of Cagayan under Signal 3, eight areas under Signal 2
Metro Manila, Philippines – The northeastern portion of Cagayan remains under tropical cyclone wind signal number 3 as Typhoon Marce bears down on extreme northern Luzon, the latest weather bulletin showed.
Government forecasters said “Marce” may make landfall in either of the four areas: Cagayan, Ilocos Norte, Apayao and the Babuyan islands on Thursday, Nov. 7.
Meanwhile, eight areas are under Signal 2, which include the following:
+ Batanes
+ rest of Cagayan including Babuyan Islands
+northern portion of Isabela
+ Apayao
+ northern portion of Kalinga
+northern portion of Abra
+ Ilocos Norte
+ northern portion of Ilocos Sur
Over 10 areas in Luzon are under the lowest storm alert. These are:
+ rest of Ilocos Sur
+ La Union
+ northwestern portion of Pangasinan
+ rest of Abra
+ rest of Kalinga
+ Mountain Province
+ Ifugao
+ Benguet
+rest of Isabela
+ Quirino
+ Nueva Vizcaya
+ the northern portion of Aurora
PAGASA said the typhoon was last spotted east of Aparri, Cagayan, packing maximum sustained winds of 150 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 185 kph.
It said “Marce” may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Friday evening, Nov. 8.
