Metro Manila, Philippines — The observance of Undas, or All Saints Day and All Souls Day, has been “peaceful” across the country, the police said on Sunday, Nov. 3.

“Generally peaceful as no untoward incident recorded,” Philippine National Police (PNP) spokesperson PBGen. Jean Fajardo told NewsWatch Plus in a message.

A National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council tally showed eight people were hurt during Undas, mostly dizziness and hypertension.

Meanwhile, seven families or around 20 individuals in Aparri, Cagayan stayed in an evacuation center after a fire ravaged their homes on Nov. 1.

Families flocked to cemeteries and columbariums on Undas, with over a million visiting the Manila North Cemetery, one of the largest burial sites in the metro.

More than 31,000 police officers were deployed nationwide for Undas.
