NU Lady Bulldogs sweep La Salle to capture three-peat in SSL

Metro Manila, Philippines — The National University Lady Bulldogs showed their dominance again after beating the De La Salle University Lady Spikers, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-20, in Game 2 of the finals to claim a historic three-peat in the Shakey's Super League Pre-Season Championship on Sunday at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum in Manila.

Best Opposite Spiker Alyssa Solomon led the attack for the Lady Bulldogs with 19 points.

Bella Belen added 12 points for NU. She was named the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.

Experience and composure were the keys to the Lady Bulldogs' title triumph as the rookie-laden Lady Spikers could not overcome the might of NU.

It was a successful return to the collegiate level for new Lady Bulldogs head coach Sherwin Meneses, who is fresh from steering the Creamline Cool Smashers to a grand slam in the Premier Volleyball League.

This is NU's fourth overall title in the pre-season tilt.
