Fire in Tondo, Manila put out - disaster responders
Metro Manila, Philippines – The fire that hit a residential area in Isla Puting Bato in Tondo, Manila on Sunday, Nov. 24 has been put out after eight hours, the Manila Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) said.
The local disaster office said a fireout was declared at 4:07 p.m.
The fire reached Task Force Charlie, which means at least 32 trucks were needed to stop the blaze.
According to Manila DRRMO, the first alarm was reported around 8 a.m. Task Force Alpha was activated an hour later.
The Philippine Coast Guard said it has extended help on firefighting and rescue operations.
Authorities have yet to provide an update on the extent of the damages.
