Metro Manila, Philippines – Motorists using the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) will face higher toll fees as the expressway implements the second tranche of the rate adjustment approved by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) starting Tuesday, November 19.

The tollway will collect an additional P0.64 per km for class 1 vehicles, P1.29 per km for class 2, and P1.93 per km for class 3.

Here's a breakdown of the new toll charges:

From Mabalacat City (Mabiga Interchange) to Tarlac:

  • Class 1 (cars/SUVs): Additional P25

  • Class 2 (buses/small trucks): Additional P50

  • Class 3 (large trucks/trailers): Additional P75

From Mabalacat City to Tipo, Hermosa, Bataan (near Subic Freeport):

  • Class 1: Additional P41

  • Class 2: Additional P81

  • Class 3: Additional P121

End-to-End Travel from Tipo, Hermosa to Tarlac:

  • Class 1: Additional P131

  • Class 2: Additional P259

  • Class 3: Additional P396

The approved toll adjustments were due in 2021 and 2023 but were deferred and divided into three tranches to minimize the impact on motorists and help curb inflationary pressures. The first tranche was implemented in October 2023.

"In recent years, impactful projects have been undertaken to enhance the safety and convenience of all SCTEX users," NLEX Corporation said, citing the installation and upgrading of roadway lights and signage, maintenance and improvements at toll plazas, and RFID system enhancements as some of those projects rolled out in the past three years to 2023.
