Converge, Hong Kong guest team headline PBA Commissioner's Cup opener

Metro Manila, Philippines — The Converge FiberXers will battle the Terrafirma Dyip in the first game of the PBA Season 49 Commissioner's Cup on Nov. 27 at the PhilSports Arena in Pasig City.

All eyes will be on Jordan Heading as he finally makes his PBA debut against the Dyip, the team that drafted him in Season 46.

Heading was acquired by Converge in a trade with Terrafirma in exchange for Aljun Melecio, Keith Zaldivar, and the FiberXers' first round draft pick in Season 51.

Former NBA player Cheick Diallo will reinforce Converge, while the Dyip tapped English-Jamaican cager Ryan Richards.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong Eastern — the first PBA guest team since the Bay Area Dragons — will face the Phoenix Fuel Masters in the second match of the import-laden conference.

On Nov. 28, the NorthPort Batang Pier square off against the NLEX Road Warriors while the Blackwater Bossing clash with the Magnolia Hotshots at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium in Manila.
