Kanlaon Volcano spews ash for 1 hour – Phivolcs
Metro Manila, Philippines — Kanlaon Volcano in Negros Islands spewed ash for about an hour on Sunday, Nov. 17, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said.
The event started at 11:01 a.m. and ended at 12:06 p.m.
According to Phivolcs, 13 ash emission episodes were recorded over the weekend, and the longest was Sunday's event.
The episodes generated plumes, mixtures of volcanic particles and gases, reaching up to 500 meters above the volcano's summit.
The plumes drifted north and south.
Since Oct. 19, there have been 55 ash emission episodes in the volcano.
Alert Level 2 or low-level unrest remains hoisted over Kanlaon Volcano.
