Chelsea Manalo wins Miss Universe Asia

Metro Manila, Philippines — Philippine bet Chelsea Manalo makes herstory as the first queen to take home the Miss Universe Asia title.

"Maraming salamat. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas [Thank you very much. Long live, Philippines]. We are making history as Miss Universe Asia," Manalo said in a video posted by Miss Universe Philippines.

Finland's Matilda Wirtavuori is the continental queen of Europe and Middle East; Peru's Tatiana Calmell for the Americas; and Nigeria's Chidimma Adetshina for Africa and Oceania.

Manalo's 73rd Miss Universe journey ended in the Top 30, in which she showcased her signature "tampisaw" walk in swimwear.

She failed to advance to the Top 12.

Denmark's Victoria Theilvig clinched the sought-after Miss Universe title for the pageant's 73rd edition.
