Vice Ganda donates essentials to ‘Angat Buhay’ for typhoon victims
Metro Manila, Philippines — ABS-CBN host Vice Ganda visited the ‘Angat Buhay’ headquarters in Quezon City on Monday to hand over his donation for the victims of Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
In a Facebook post, the foundation said Vice spent time with volunteers and staff, offering words of support and encouragement.
“Ngayong hapon, binisita tayo ni Vice Ganda upang mag drop-off ng kanyang donasyon at kumustahin ang ating mga volunteers,” the foundation wrote.
[Translation: This afternoon, Vice Ganda visited us to drop off his donation and check on our volunteers.]
"Mula sa aming puso, maraming salamat sa iyong patuloy na pakikipagkapwa at pakikipag bayanihan!" it said.
[Translation: From our hearts, thank you for your continued empathy and spirit of unity]
In a separate conversation shared on social media, Vice spoke with former Vice President Leni Robredo via phone as he turned over his donations.
“Sabi namin saan dadalhin ang goods sa office or sa Naga na, sabi sa amin diyan nalang sa office idiretcho, ang tagal din pala bago makarating sa inyo,” Vice shared with Robredo.
[Translation: We asked where to deliver the goods, to the office or Naga, and they told us to take them directly to the office. It took quite a while to reach you.]
Robredo replied, “Oo, wala nang mabilhan dito ng pagkain, wala nang mabilhan ng gasolina.”
[Translation: Yes, there’s nowhere to buy food here, and even gasoline is unavailable.]
Vice said in jest the entire country seems to be sending its donations through the foundation.
Robredo acknowledged, “Swerte na maraming nagtitiwala.” [Translation: We’re lucky that so many trust us.]
“Mas may tiwala pa nga ako sa inyo kaysa sa nanay ko,” Vice responded. [Translation: I trust you even more than my mom.]
Vice called on other volunteers to join the foundation’s relief efforts.
