Former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque and his wife Mylah. (Harry Roque/FB)

Metro Manila, Philippines — The wife of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque who has been required to attend a House investigation on offshore gaming has left the country, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said on Tuesday, Oct. 15.

Mylah Roque, a former trustee of government housing agency Pag-IBIG, exited on Sept. 3. The Justice Department issued an immigration lookout bulletin order on her on Sept. 16.

In a statement on Sept. 21, she said she flew to Singapore for treatment, but did not disclose her medical condition.

Last week, the House quad committee cited her in contempt for refusing to attend its inquiry on illegal Philippine offshore gaming operations (POGO).

Her husband also has a standing contempt order for failing to submit subpoenaed documents including his statement of assets, liabilities, and net worth.

The joint panel has invited Mylah as she was implicated in a deal with the arrest of Chinese nationals linked to a POGO hub in Bamban, Tarlac.

Roque, meanwhile, was dragged into the probe after he supposedly accompanied Cassandra Li Ong – an official of Lucky South 99, a raided POGO hub in Porac, Pampanga – to pay arrears to the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation.

He has denied lawyering for Lucky South 99.

Authorities are locating Roque’s whereabouts.
