Palace announces new Marcos appointees

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 31) — Malacañang on Monday announced the latest appointments in the Marcos administration, which include officials for the Marawi Compensation Board (MCB) and the Commission on Filipinos Overseas (CFO).

According to the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin led the oath-taking of eight new appointees to the MCB:

The newly appointed members are:

- Dalomabi Lao Bula

- Mustapha C. Dimaampao

- Moslemen T. Macarambon Sr.

- Nasser Macapado Tabao

- Mabandes Sumndad Diron Jr.

- Jamaica Lamping Dimaporo

- Sittie Aliyyah Lomondot Adiong

- Romaisa Lomantong Mamutuk

The PCO also re-announced Romulo Victoria Arugay’s appointment as CFO chairman.

Under the law, the MCB facilitates the tax-free payment of compensation to “qualified claimants” who lost residential and commercial properties in the Marawi siege.

The CFO, meanwhile, was established under the Office of the President with responsibilities including upholding the interests, rights, and welfare of overseas Filipinos.
