K-pop group TWICE joins 2 other Asians to receive Billboard Women in Music Award

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 31) — K-pop group TWICE will receive the Breakthrough award in the 2023 Billboard Women in Music Awards, making them the third set of Asian women to be recognized by the organization.

In a twitter post, TWICE announced they will also be performing during the awards night in Los Angeles, California.

"We can't wait to see you there," TWICE said.

The awards night will be held at Youtube Theater on March 1.

TWICE will be the third Asian to be recognized, followed by half-Filipina Olivia Rodrigo and H.E.R., who were honored last year.

TWICE also landed in the 84th spot in the Billboard Hot 100 last week with their song "Moonlight Sunrise." It also placed third among the best-selling songs in the US.

Miley Cirus' "Flowers" and Sam Smith and Kim Petras "Unholy" landed first and second place, respectively.

According to Billboard, the music award honors "today's most influential female powerhouses who are shaping the music landscape."

Other awardees this year include Lana Del Rey, Kim Petras, Ive Qeen and Becky G.
