NTC to open SIM registration sites in remote areas on Feb. 1-3

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 30) — A total of 30 Subscriber Identity Module (SIMS) registration sites will open nationwide from Feb. 1 to 3, the National Telecommunications Commissions (NTC) announced Monday.

The one-day SIM registration will be available in areas including Gattaran, Cagayan on Feb. 1.

On Feb. 2, SIM registration sites will open in 15 areas: Bagui in Ilocos Norte, Allacapan in Cagayan, Floridablanca in Pampanga, Lemery in Batangas, Gasan in Marinduque, Bacacay in Albay, Madalag in Aklan, Oslob in Cebu, Tolosa in Leyte, Sergio Osmeña in Zamboanga del Norte, Baungon in Bukidnon, Laak in Davao de Oro, Antipas in Cotobato, Ezperanza in Agusan del Sur and Tublay in Benguet.

On Feb. 3, SIM registration sites will also be available in 14 areas: Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte, Limay in Bataan, Lian in Batangas, Sablayan in Occidental Mindoro, Pilar in Sorsogon, Lemery in Iloilo, Malabuyog in Cebu, Tanauan in Leyte, Josefina in Zamboanga del Sur, San Fernando in Bukidnon, Kiblawan in Davao del Sur, President Roxas in Cotabo, bayugan in Agusan del Sur and Kapangan in Benguet.

On Jan. 28, the NTC reported about 26.6 million registered SIMs nationwide.

Among the registered SIMs, 13.88 million are from Smart Communication Inc., 10.88 million from Globe Telecom Inc. and 2 million from DITO Telecommunity Corp.
