LTO to revoke license of SUV driver involved in Mandaluyong multiple crash

Metro Manila (CNN Philippines, January 30) — The Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID) of the Land Transportation Office (LTO) recommended the revocation of the driver's license of Dominador Braga after he admitted that he was the driver of the SUV that caused the multiple vehicle crash in Mandaluyong City last Jan. 10.

According to the police report, the SUV hit 12 vehicles at the intersection of Shaw Blvd. and San Miguel Avenue, resulting in 13 injuries.

Police detained two people on board the SUV after the incident but initially failed to identify the driver.

"Tinapos na namin ang imbestigasyon at maglalabas ang LTO ng desisyon base sa mga hawak na ebidensya bukod pa sa pag-amin na rin ng drayber," Renan Melitante, LTO IID officer-in-charge, said in a statement.

Prior to Braga’s confession, the LTO suspended the licenses of both persons on board the SUV.

Braga is presently detained at the Mandaluyong City Police Custodial Center and may face charges for reckless driving.

The LTO said Braga will undergo a stricter process when he reapplies for a driver’s license.
