Metro Manila, Philippines – The Anti-Organized Crime Unit of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) confiscated 50 boxes each with 5,000 pieces of unregistered whitening soap amounting to over half a million pesos at a warehouse in Guiguinto, Bulacan.
A statement said the operation on Monday, Oct. 19, resulted in the arrest of two female suspects, a Chinese and a Filipino.
The suspects were arrested while distributing, selling, and trading the products without product registration or authority from the trademark owner.
The CIDG said unregistered soaps pose health risks to consumers.
